Managing Complex Packaging Production for Bindt Beauty

Bindt Beauty, a premium beauty brand, approached Hibiscus for the development and production of branded corrugated packaging across multiple box formats.

The project involved adapting existing brand artwork, developing a new box size, matching established brand colours, creating production-ready artwork, sampling, and coordinating bulk manufacturing.

As the packaging was closely tied to the brand's product launches, maintaining visual consistency, premium finishing and production timelines was critical.

What We Did

Hibiscus managed the project end-to-end across Design & Branding, Sampling, Manufacturing and Quality Control.
01 Artwork & Structural Development
03 Production Management
04 Quality & Specification Review

Phase 1: Artwork & Structural Development

We reviewed the existing packaging and adapted the artwork across the required box formats while maintaining the brand's established visual language.

This included:
1. Artwork adaptation
2. KLD development
3. Structural specifications
4. Colour matching
5. Production-ready artwork
6. Physical sampling
The artwork and sample were reviewed and approved before moving into bulk production.

Phase 2: Production Management

The packaging was manufactured with additional production quantities to account for manufacturing variance and potential rejection
During production, our team identified inconsistencies within the manufactured stock and segregated pieces that did not meet the required quality parameters before dispatch.

This ensured that only approved stock was initially released.

Phase 3: Quality & Specification Review

Following delivery, the client identified concerns relating to:
    ‍
    1. Logo and artwork alignment
    2. Colour consistency
    3. Interior finishing
    4. Overall visual uniformity
Hibiscus conducted a detailed internal review covering the approved artwork, production specifications, manufacturing process, quality checks and finishing decisions.

This helped identify both manufacturing-level variations and areas where communication around specification changes could have been stronger.

      The Resolution

      • Rather than treating the situation as a simple manufacturing issue, Hibiscus worked collaboratively with the client to identify a commercially and operationally practical resolution. Several corrective pathways were evaluated, including:
        ‍
      • Reproduction
Re-manufacturing the affected packaging according to the approved specifications.
        ‍
      • Return & Credit
Returning the existing stock and providing a credit against the order.
        ‍
      • Commercial Adjustment
Allowing the client to retain the existing inventory while providing a substantial commercial adjustment.
        ‍
      • After multiple rounds of review and discussion, Hibiscus provided a 50% commercial adjustment on the box order, removed the applicable sampling charges and corrected additional die-charge discrepancies.

The final settlement significantly reduced the client's outstanding commercial exposure while allowing both teams to close the project constructively.

      The Outcome

The project demonstrated Hibiscus' ability to manage packaging beyond manufacturing.
From artwork development and sampling to vendor coordination, quality control, logistics and commercial resolution, Hibiscus remained involved throughout the entire packaging lifecycle.
Most importantly, the project helped strengthen the systems we use to deliver more consistent and brand-aligned packaging for future clients.

Great packaging is not just about making the product. It is about managing every detail between brief and box.

For Hibiscus, every production challenge is an opportunity to improve the system — making packaging development more predictable, transparent and reliable for the brands we work with.
